Preparations and Setting of Gluepot before Start of Edge Banding Machine

I. The following operations shall be conducted before starting an edge banding machine

1. Check and make sure the machine is placed in the proper position and horizontal in the working area.

2. Check and make sure the upper and lower trimming knives of the edge trimming machine are correctly tightened.

3. Make sure there are no parts damaged or plugged.

4. Remove the remaining packaging and tools for installation of the machine. Check and make sure there are no foreign bodies left.

5. Check the power and control cables of the machine for damages like cut, bending, crushing damage, scratch, etc.

6. Check air lines and fittings for deformation, scratch, damage or gas leakage.

7. If all are checked favorable, turn on the “power switch lock” on the control panel to start the machine.

8. After starting the machine, check and make sure the emergency stop buttons on the control panel and the edge trimming unit can function properly.

9. Place an edgeband coil on the tray.

II. Setting of Gluepot of Edge banding Machine

1. Use the gluepot heating temperature regulator on the control panel to set the gluepot temperature (it is recommended to set the gluepot temperature approximately within: 150°C -180°C (high temperature glue)). When turning up the “power switch lock”, the gluepot heating unit is started as well and thus it is necessary to adjust the gluepot heating temperature after startup.

2. Fill the gluepot with pimpled rubber to the level 3cm to the upper edge.

3. Wait for the pimpled rubber to melt and reach the setting temperature (high temperature glue is recommended with the setting temperature of 180°C).

Warning: Before the gluepot heating temperature reaches the setting temperature, do not start the edge banding machine. When the gluepot heating temperature reaches the setting one, wait another ten minutes before starting to get the gluepot into operation.

4. According to the “Machine Adjustment and Setting”, place an edgeband into the machine for gluing and edge banding of workpieces.
